This is my first landscape. Once I decided to paint I got nervous that I wouldn't have any good ideas of what to paint. So, I asked for suggestions. My sister Emily and her family live in Seattle and love outdoor sports. She asked if I would paint Mount Rainier for her. I can't remember if I started this painting before or after I started my still life class at the BDAC, but I know I did it sometime in January 2009. A lot of the techniques I used in this painting came from a book I got from the library entitled "Fill your oil paintings with light and color" by Kevin D. Macpherson.
